Greetings!
I am Lady Hardmon Grooms and it gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR for ON THE COURT SPORTS,Inc.
Our mission at On The Court Sports is to provide young athletes the opportunity to advance and enhance their athletic endeavors, as well as provide the tools needed to succeed on and off the basketball court. We are not just teaching basketball, but LIFE.
On The Court was established in 1994. We have over 80 Alumni that participated in college level and a few that excelled to the Professional level.
We work hard to help athletes realize what it means to be intense, and to play with mental toughness. Hard work, discipline, perseverance and team work are all key teaching points. In today's game, our young people lack basic fundamentals of the basketball. Fundamentals and technique are required to become a successful basketball player. College coaches are constantly looking for those players that have the fundamentals and technique which separate them from the hundreds of players who may be very athletic but don’t understand or cannot produce basic fundamentals successfully. Our program is separated from hundreds of other programs because of the emphasis in developing the Player on and off the court! We focus on positive values and beliefs that will produce leadership skills and integrity that each student-athlete can use in the game of LIFE!
Below are key points of my System for Success:
- Leadership Skills..we endorse Teens Toastmaster
- Teaching the basic fundamentals of the Game
- Performance Development and Strength training
- Life is a competition…Therefore, we will compete!
- Balancing school, sports, and life! We promote the high quality "Student-Athletes"
- Discipline! Discipline! Discipline! What does it take to achieve your dreams?
- Learning to be a great teammate by using John Wooden’s Principals as a guideline
“It is amazing how much can be accomplished if no one cares who gets the credit.” - John Wooden
